Q. What are your fees and why are lawyers so expensive?
A: Lawyers base their fees on different facts, including the difficulty of a particular legal task, the amount of time involved, the experience and skill of the lawyer in the particular area of law and the lawyer’s cost of doing business. The cost of doing business, referred to as overhead, usually includes rent, equipment, salaries and the cost of maintaining the lawyer’s level of professional skills and education. A lawyer’s overhead normally is 35 percent to 50 percent of the legal fees charged” (Florida Bar Attorney’s Fees Pamphlet). Sawgrass strives to bring excellent and competitively legal services to our clients.
Our fees are will generally be based on the individual facts and circumstances in your case. Some cases require more time, cost, and expense. Some cases are simply very complex. If you would like to get a quote on an estimated cost of your case, please use the “Contact Us” option and provide your contact details. You will be contacted by way of email or phone call on whether your case is something we are able to handle.
GOOD NEWS: Personal injury & employment discrimination matters are on a contingency fee basis - this means you pay NOTHING if Sawgrass Law does not win!
Q. Do you represent clients anywhere in Florida?

Q. I was injured in a car accident in another state while on vacation but I am a Florida resident.
A: As long as the person who injured you lives in the state of Florida, I can help you.
Q. I own a property far away in New York and I want to evict the tenants that have not paid in two months. Can you represent me?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot. It would be improper and illegal to represent you in an out-of-state personal injury or eviction case. However, some cases involve Florida residents or businesses, whereby their Attorney is required to both communicate with out-of-state contacts, agents, attorneys, etc. In these instances, it may incidentally occur from time-to-time when a lawyer represents a Florida client’s interest. Again, each case is fact specific. Please use the “Contact Us” option to send us a message and we will contact you if your case is something we are able to assist you with.
Q. I own a property in Citrus County, Florida and I need to remove a tenant. Can you assist me and what is the cost?
A: Yes, We are able to provide services all throughout Florida and can represent both businesses and individuals anywhere in the state. For cases involving basic, uncontested evictions (one tenant), from start to finish, we operate on a flat fee basis of $850.00. Each additional tenant in the same matter is $50.00 per tenant. Under normal circumstances when an eviction is uncontested, we can usually have the tenant(s) removed within approximately three (3) weeks after an eviction lawsuit has been filed and the final writ of possession (removal order) has been executed. The Florida eviction statute is incredibly complex, you should always hire an attorney to avoid erring on a minor procedural matter, which may result in paying your tenant's attorney all their fees if you made a mistake.
Q. Does Sawgrass Law accept credit cards?
A. Yes! All major credit cards are accepted as well as Venmo and Zelle.
Q. I need free legal assistance and representation because I cannot afford a lawyer. Can you please make an exception to take my case?

Attorney Edlund, however, proudly provides legal service to the poor and under-served, in excess of the aspirational 40 hours of pro bono assistance per year, in accordance with the Florida Bar’s expectations of attorneys to provide free legal assistance to the under-served. Attorney Edlund carefully vets though selected individuals and organizations to serve their legal needs on a pro-bono basis. Q. I was jogging in my neighborhood and my neighbor's dog bolted towards me. I fell over and broke several bones and sustained several bite marks and lacerations to my body. The dog's owner said I really should be more careful next time and denied all liability. Can you help me?
A: Yes! With some exceptions, Florida's dog bite laws impute strict liability upon the owner of any dog that failed to restrain their pet and resulted in another person's injury. On average dog bites and attacks recover $30,000 to $50,000 per each attack in Florida. However, each case is very fact specific and those results are not guaranteed. This is why you should have an attorney represent you in recovering damages entitled to you resulting from dog bites and attacks.

Q. I had a contract with someone, and they refuse to pay me I also cannot find them. Is there any way Sawgrass Law can help?
A: Most likely, we vigorously pursue businesses and individuals alike by assisting other businesses and individuals with unpaid debts, bills, or collections. Attorney Edlund has assisted businesses with recovering thousands of dollars in unpaid bills on behalf of clients even those that are difficult to locate. Additionally, Attorney Edlund has assisted his contractor and sub-contractor clients by initiating foreclosure actions when a property lien has been properly filed.
